The best time of year is back…it’s FINALLY college football season…and once again I’m thrilled to have the expert panel of my buddies Jon Bell, Steve Malina as well as ABC15’s Shane Dale to make our weekly picks.
For our guest picker each week, I’ll have a 1580 The Fanatic personality and this week, I’m pleased to be joined by Morning Fanatics producer and occasional fill-in co-host on The Daily Blender, Chris Schubert!
Here’s how this works – we’ll track each of the 10 games weekly straight up and against the spread based on each person’s score predictions.
After nine long months, here we go with some AWESOME matchups!

This Week’s Bold Prediction:
EC: Wyoming, coming off a stifling defensive performance on Saturday night vs. New Mexico State, holds Washington State to under 20 points in a convincing victory in Laramie.
JB: With all the controversy swirling around Columbus, the Buckeyes come out flat and fall in Ryan Day’s debut to an up and coming Oregon State, 17-13. Do I have your attention? Good. Back in reality, after the Buckeyes pummel the Beavers by 70, the renewal of two iconic programs in Michigan-Notre Dame resumes to instant classic. Ultimately, a new look offense Wolverines prevails in South Bend, as Michigan loudly reenters the national picture.
SD: UNLV will not beat USC but will give the Trojans a scare.
SM: Hawaii keeps it going and upsets Navy as a double digit underdog.
CS: Khalil Tate has under 200 total yards and his Heisman Trophy campaign effectively comes to an end in Week 1.
Cohen’s Weekly College Football Playoff Bowl Forecast:
Peach: Miami vs. Ohio State
Fiesta: Wisconsin vs. Boise State
Rose: Michigan vs. USC
Sugar: Auburn vs. Oklahoma
Cotton (semifinal): Alabama vs. Washington
Orange (semifinal): Clemson vs. Georgia
National Championship Game Prediction: Clemson over Alabama
